I’m an economist working at the intersection of monetary policy, macro-financial modeling, and applied research. I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from the Vancouver School of Economics at the University of British Columbia, where my dissertation studied optimal monetary policy under loose commitment and the zero lower bound.
I currently work as a Senior Economist in the Financial Stability Area at the Central Bank of Chile, where my research centers on monetary policy under commitment problems and the zero lower bound, macro-financial dynamics across crisis and non-crisis regimes, and network-based measures of systemic risk in the financial system. Before UBC, I was an economic advisor to the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Chile and a research assistant at the University of Chile.
I find it hard to sit still, and I’m just as passionate about new technologies as I am about stepping away from the screen — I rest my mind through manual and artistic work like woodworking, playing guitar, and photography.
I’m currently based in Santiago, Chile.
