Acknowledgments

This website is, in many ways, a record of things I have learned from others.

My work and the ideas collected here have been shaped by teachers, colleagues, coauthors, students, friends, and family who have challenged the way I think, trusted me with difficult questions, and generously shared their own ideas along the way. I am particularly grateful to the people who guided me during my early years as an economist, to my professors and classmates during my Ph.D., and to the many colleagues with whom I have had the privilege of working since.

Some of what appears here is formal research; some consists of notes, code, lectures, photographs, or ideas still taking shape. None of it develops in isolation. Conversations, disagreements, questions, mistakes, and the work of others are often where the interesting parts begin.

This site is also built with an enormous amount of open-source software and freely shared knowledge. I am grateful to the people who create and maintain those tools, write documentation, answer questions, and make their work available for others to build upon.

Finally, my deepest thanks go to my family and friends, who provide the time, curiosity, perspective, and life outside economics that make all of this worthwhile.

Any errors, unfinished thoughts, questionable code, and overly complicated solutions found here are, of course, my own.
